Описание: Detecting signs of developmental delay in children under 12 months is essential in order to help them cope up with the delays.*️⃣

🔸Here are some early indicators to look out for:🔸

🔹Delayed motor milestones- Failure of reaching certain set milestones in a time frame is first red flag. Not lifting or holding neck by 3 months, not rolling over by 6 months , sitting or crawling by 9-10 months , walking by 12 months could indicate delays.

🔹Difficulty in feeding - If your child is struggling with sucking , swallowing , lacking control of tongue or maintaining neck while feeding it could be due to underlying delays which need to be thoroughly assessed.

🔹Lack of response to stimuli- Babies usually respond to sounds , familiar faces. Lack of response to change in surroundings or not being interested in different surroundings can be concerning.

🔹Unusual patterns in postures or movements- Stiff limbs or limited grasp, extremely flail limbs lacking control while achieving postures of sitting or standing may be signs of developmental delay.

🔹Limited vocalisation- Infants usually make sounds or coo initial months. Limited attempts of sound production may indicate potential speech and communication delays.

🔹Limited eye contact and social interaction-Limited engagement or lack of interest with family members, getting extremely cranky or difficult to manage in social interaction may be potential adaptable issues in children.

🔹No observed self-help skills - Children are curious beings do observe if they can hold a bottle, or sippy cup, show interest in a spoon, explore textures with hands and mouth trying to eat finger foods (9-12 months)

📌💭It is important to note that every child develops at their own pace some variations are considered to be normal. If you notice these signs its always advisable to contact your healthcare provider for professional assessment by a Pediatrician, Occupational therapist and Speech and Language pathologist.
