Maulana Showkat Hussein Keng Qadiri takes us through the history of the Royal Cemetery, locally known as the Mazaar-e-Salateen. At the Royal Cemetery, some of the greatest kings of Kashmir are buried, including the esteemed Zain ul Abidin Budshah of the Shahmiri dynasty, along with his father and nobles.
The cemetery also houses the grave of Mirza Haider Dughlat of Kazakhstan, who served as a Mughal governor of Kashmir during the mid-16th century. In addition, there are several emissaries of Mir Syed Ali Hamadani RA, who traveled to Kashmir to spread the message of Islam in the region.
