Los Angeles, California. If you're not from the area, you may be surprised to learn that the name Los Angeles is not just used for the City. It may also refer to the County, or just the general area. It stretches as far North as Sylmar, South to Long Beach, East to Pomona, and West to Malibu. You may be wondering what these names are when I'm supposed to be talking about Los Angeles. This is because in one way or another, they fall into the vicinity. For example, Hollywood is a well-known district in the City of Los Angeles. Malibu is a well-known City in the County of Los Angeles. Are you confused yet? Don't worry. There's plenty of natives that don't know the difference, including myself. Most people just refer to every area as a city. This brings me to my next point. If you plan on visiting L.A., be prepared to commute. There are several ways of getting around, be it public transportation or in a personal vehicle. And of course it wouldn't be L.A. without Freeways.
