One sunny afternoon, as the friends played in the park, they heard a worried meow. It was Leo’s cat, Whiskers, stuck high up in an old oak tree.

Whiskers had chased a butterfly up the tree and couldn't find her way down. Leo’s face turned pale with worry, and his eyes welled up with tears.

Mia knew they had to act fast. "Don't worry, Leo! We'll get Whiskers down," Mia said with determination. She quickly gathered her friends and they huddled together to come up with a plan.

They tried to shake the tree gently, but it was too sturdy. Throwing a ball of yarn up to lure Whiskers down didn’t work either.

Mia then had a brilliant idea. She tied a long rope she found in her backpack around her waist and handed the other end to Max and Emma.

"Hold onto this tightly. I’m going up to get Whiskers," she instructed. With her friends’ support, Mia began to climb the tree.

She was careful and focused, thinking only of rescuing Whiskers. When she reached the branch where Whiskers was perched, she spoke softly to calm the frightened cat.

Slowly, she stretched out her hand, and Whiskers, recognizing her, hesitated but eventually crawled into Mia’s arms.

Holding Whiskers close, Mia started her descent. The cheers from below grew louder with every step she took.

When her feet finally touched the ground, Leo rushed over and hugged Mia and Whiskers tightly. "Thank you, Mia! You were so brave!"

Mia smiled, feeling proud but also thankful for her friends' support. Later that evening, as the sun set over Brightville, Mia, Leo, Emma, and Max sat together on a grassy hill, watching the sky turn shades of pink and orange.
