Johanna Fernandez, a coordinator for Educators for Mumia Abu-Jamal and associate professor at the City University of New York, speaks to Marc Lamont Hill on the condition of Mumia Abu-Jamal's imprisonment.
Jamal, a political prisoner who's been imprisoned for 40 years, contracted COVID-19, lost 30 pounds and was moved to an undisclosed hospital. His supporters call for Jamal's release and call for him not to be shackled to his hospital bed and for him to contact his family.
Fernandez speaks on the conditions of prisons and how it's not beneficial to Black health.
