Описание: In the engine room of the Dutch inland cruise ship Ali-B2, built in 1926 as the luxe motor ’t Is niet anders (That’s how it is), stands an Industrie 2VD6, an 80 hp 2-cylinder engine, installed in 1957. ‘You can go on and on about engines, cars and women,’ skipper Gerrit Wassenburg tells. ‘Not my thing, but this is special. There are still barges with Industrie engines, but those are more modern single-block engines. Beautiful stuff too, but this one has separate cylinders. This is what made Industrie great.’ Apart from the low fuel use and reliability, Wassenburg praises the sound of his langzaamloper. ‘It’s truly the Industrie sound: tobacco, tobacco, tobacco.’
