Iran: Two Protesters Sentenced to 13 Years in Prison

Iranian authorities have sentenced two protesters arrested during the November 2019 major anti-regime demonstrations to long prison terms. Jalal Namdari and Saeed Khaledi, the two protesters, were sentence to a collective 13 years in prison on charges of participating in anti-regime protests that erupted after the regime imposed a sudden increase on the price of gasoline. Namdari is from Kermanshah and Khaledi from Paveh. Namdari was sentenced to five years in prison for “acting against the national security and cooperation with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran” and another three years for “assembling and collusion for crimes by participating and encouraging people to participate in the November protests.”

Opposition Supporters Call For Election Boycott Inside Iran

The campaign against the mullahs’ regime's sham presidential elections is spreading throughout Iran. In various cities across the country, people spread slogans such as “Boycotting the election sham is a patriotic duty,” “No to the sham elections,” and “Our vote is the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime, yes to a democratic republic.” These activities were organized by the network of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran inside Iran, the Resistance Units.
In Tehran, and other cities the Resistance Units installed posters of Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, and the Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi while echoing the slogans, “Boycotting the election sham is a patriotic duty,” and “Democracy and freedom with Maryam Rajavi.”

Iran: COVID-19 Death Toll Exceeds 251,000

Over 251,000 people have died of the novel coronavirus across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports by People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran as of Tuesday. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 65,055 around a fourth of the actual figure.
“The spread of coronavirus in Tehran province is extremely fast. We have a capacity of 6691 beds for coronavirus patients across the province and all the beds are now full,” said the governor of Tehran province on Monday. “We have no choice but to increase this capacity in cooperation with the Health ministry and the Medical Sciences universities of Tehran province. These numbers are quite concerning in comparison to late February and March,” he added, according to the IRNA news agency.
