A short demo of my "Tone" Tenor Mandola.
This instrument has a 415mm scale length and body width of 315mm.
It is usually tuned C,G,D,A (low to high), but for this piece of music I have tuned the low C down to B, so that the I could play open ringing G chords.
I recorded it on my Zoom H2n Handy Recorder with no EQ or other treatment and used a Dunlop “Ultex” .88 pick - the strings are D’Addario EJ72 Phosphor Bronze Mandola Strings (14,23,34,49).
The music is "O'Hara's Cup" by the famous Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan.
