I did not have $10k to spend on an infill hand plane, but I did have a hack saw so I decided to try and make my own. This plane is based on the early 1900's Norris no. 10 & 11 infill mitre (aka miter) planes. Steel body with maple infills and dovetail construction. This hand plane is 5" long and 1-1/2" wide. This type of hand plane was designed to take fine shavings without tear out. Even in hard and troublesome woods. I worked on this project on and off for three months. With any luck the next one will go much faster.
