The Song of Silesia (Once I return to my Homeland) is an old folk and soldier song about which not much is known. The song text was transmitted in handwriting in the second half of the 19th century, with the author remaining anonymous. The song is often confused with "My Silesian Land" by Johannes Reinelt and Paul Mittmann.
There are some variations with additional stanzas:

In the shadow of an oak tree,
yes, there I gave her the farewell kiss.
Sweetheart, I cannot stay with you,
because, yes because I have to part from you.

If I should ever die, someday in a foreign land,
sweetheart, then I want to be buried there,
where once in our young years,
both of us were so completely alone.

In the thumbnail, the Kynsburg an der Weistritz can be seen, which was built in the 13th century by Duke Bolko I. to secure the Bohemian border. Throughout its history, it has changed hands frequently and suffered numerous damages.
Since 1904, the castle has been used as a museum, although in 1945 after its transfer to Poland, a large part of the original exhibits and furniture was destroyed. Additionally, the castle ruins were renamed to "Zamek Grodno".
