Study finds growing mental health crisis in Utah amongst inconsistent funding

Описание: There is a growing mental health crisis in Utah forcing lawmakers to take action.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, Utah has one of the highest rates of depression among adults and children in the nation, scoring above 20 percent of our total population.

It’s impossible to pinpoint the exact amount the state spends on mental health programs, however, social services has recently become a core focus of Utah legislation.

In 2023 alone, $14.2 million was granted for the category of “substance use and mental health services.” In 2019, that same category received less than half a million dollars.
