Since their entry into service, Trenitalia trains adopt the DPR livery (with some different additions in each region where they are in use, for example the lion of San Marco on trains in use in Veneto), while those of Trenord, use the livery of this company. The Tuscan Railway Transport trains, on the other hand, adopt a variant of Trenitalia's DPR livery, with threads in two shades of teal-green (typical of TFT trains), instead of yellow and blue.

It is a single-deck electric train, with 3 (ETR 103) or 4 bodies (ETR 104/204), equipped with 4 traction motors; is part of the Coradia Stream family and travels at a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
The convoy can load, in the longest configuration, up to 509 people, and the trainsets can be joined together in multiple command. The interiors are modular and it is possible to use a space normally occupied by 4 seats to install an additional luggage rack or a vending machine for snacks and drinks, an element that with the Pop is present for the first time on an Italian regional train. In the version for the metropolitan railway service of Naples, the number of seats has been reduced to increase the load capacity.
The seats are all equipped with USB sockets and 230 V electrical sockets. The on-board lighting, made with LED light, automatically adjusts according to the amount of ambient light present, and the large windows allow a greater entry of natural light.
Passenger circulation is optimized thanks to wide corridors compliant with UIC567 and suitable for people with reduced mobility.
The convoy is designed with particular attention to internal climatic comfort; There is an air conditioning and ventilation system adjustable according to the number of passengers and the doors (sliding double-leaf, positioned flush with the quay) are opened and closed manually by passengers (via touch buttons) to reduce heat exchange with the outside.
The information system on board the POP is integrated with Trenitalia's ground infrastructure and is equipped with LCD displays in the carriages visible from every point of the train, which display travel information and / or audiovisual entertainment content, and there is a Wi-Fi network accessible to passengers and on-board staff. Travel information, as well as on the internal displays, is also displayed on the yellow LED monitors at the ends and sides of the vehicle. Security is guaranteed by a system of digital video surveillance cameras, with display of images on the monitors, and by an automatic fire extinguishing system. A passenger counting system allows the control of the turnout on board.
