Are the voices of the oppressed of no concern to news channels in India? While thousands of government employees from several states of India are protesting demanding restoration of the old pension scheme that was in place prior to 2004, they hardly received any media coverage. With over a million tribal people now under the threat of being evicted from their homes after the Supreme Court's rejection of their claims under Scheduled Tribes and Other Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006; few TV channels brought the matter to limelight.
