Watcher of Realms - Account switch fixes

Chances are you are here because you already have an account and do not want to play for an hour just to finally switch to your existing account.

Hopefully they change this: UPDATE - They did! You can now click the load account button on the loading screen. If you aren't fast enough, close the app and try again.

Now click your player profile in the upper left corner.

Then go to Settings.

There you will see a switch account button

If you do not see the button, you did it too soon and just need to do 1 more mission. It either requires you to complete the 2nd missions or else be level 2, which just so happens to be when you beat the 2nd mission…

The second reason you could be here is that you did all of the above and are now getting an error message. If you are getting the message: “This third-party account has already been bound to another account. Error:16”. It means you are trying to save to an account, not load from it.

This happens if you click the google or facebook button here… and not the switch account button.

The third reason you might be here is that you are attempting to switch accounts, but instead get the error message:

New Login Information -
Failed to switch to the account. The third-party account has not been connected, or there is no character under the account.

This happens because you are trying to load from an account that does not have any game information. In other words it’s the wrong account or you never connected your account to begin with.

Assuming it’s the wrong account, this is how you fix it.

For Google:
Open the google play games app. That’s the google play GAMES app, not the google play STORE app. This is the icon for it.

If you can’t find it on your phone, you can go to the google play store, then search for google play games. Open it up, if you only see an update button, you’ll need to update it first.

Once it’s opened, you’ll see this screen. It’s pretty much useless.

But in the upper right corner is 3 dots. Clicking it will allow you to choose Settings.

Once settings is open, there may be a small delay as it loads information. The option we want is “Change account for games” under Your Data.

Click it and you get a list of all of the games you play that are logged in using google as well as an option to change the default for all games.

If you see Watcher of Realms already, you can click change and pick the google account that has your saved game information. If you don’t know it you can check your other device to see what account it should be. Or just try them all one at a time and hope one works. If none of them do you don’t have the account on this device at all, or you never connected your game to an account in the first place.

If you do not see Watcher of Realms in the list, then you need to change the default account for games. I recommend the first choose, only change it for new games, because if you pick the other option, it might goof up one of your other games. If you don’t care about that possibility, you can pick either option.

Now head back into Watcher of Realms, and when you go to switch accounts, your original data should show up. Here is my User ID and my Character name as it should be. If it’s the correct information, go ahead and sign in. If it’s not the correct information, then your data is in yet another castle, I mean google account. And you’ll have to go back to google play games until you find the correct account.

For Facebook:
You'll need to logout of facebook in the game. Then log into your other facebook account(s) until you find the account you saved your game to.
