Описание: Running a nonprofit organization that includes operating a team on the ground to protect a world-famous beluga whale who was in the Russian military is no easy task! Our work is very challenging - especially during the cold, dark winter - but it doesn’t compare to the hard life Hvaldimir has been forced to live. He was taken from his family, spent years in captivity and now – except for some human interaction – is living all alone in the fjords of Norway.

All you need to do is look at this face to understand why we happily show up for him every single day. It is an honor to work to protect this special whale and we thank you for being a part of a community of people who love him so much and want to see him protected until he can be in the wild with other belugas.

OneWhale.org is a nonprofit created expressly for protecting the long-term health and welfare of Hvaldimir, Norway’s famous resident beluga whale, so that we can protect many. OneWhale, has assembled a team of animal care professionals and marine mammal experts from around the world to create a long-term solution for Hvaldimir and other whales like him. In partnership with the city of Hammerfest, OneWhale is building the first Whale Reserve of its kind to care for formerly captive whales and other whales in need, providing them safety, enrichment, and more natural life in an ocean environment.
