What happens to the electronics supply chain when Big Tech commits up to $185 billion to AI infrastructure?
On February 6, 2026, shares of TTM Technologies jumped more than 7% after reports that Alphabet plans massive AI data-center spending. The logic is simple: AI chips don’t float. Every processor, optical module, and RF component must be integrated onto advanced printed circuit boards and high-density subsystems.
Just days earlier, TTM reported strong Q4 results, with sales up 19% year-on-year, driven by data-center and networking demand tied to generative AI.
In this interview, CEO Edwin Roks explains how the company is positioning itself around two major megatrends:
• Artificial intelligence
• Defence electronics
Together, these markets now account for roughly 80% of TTM’s net sales. Data-center computing alone grew 57% year-on-year in Q4, reflecting the scale of the AI build-out.
Roks also outlines TTM’s shift from traditional circuit boards to high-value integrated modules combining chips, RF, sensors, and photonics into complete subsystems.
The strategy has two tracks:
More complex, higher-layer advanced PCBs
Expansion into integrated modules and mission-critical systems
Roks is also a founding member of the Optica Executive Team of Trustees and a speaker at the Global Photonics Economic Forum, where industry leaders discuss how AI, defence, and advanced packaging are reshaping the photonics value chain.
The recent share-price jump may be short-term market reaction.
The deeper story is structural: AI data-center growth is pulling demand through the entire electronics stack—from photonic interconnects down to the most advanced circuit boards.
In this video, Roks explains where TTM fits into that shift.
