Numerical solutions to the Classical and Elastic wave equations. Both of these simulations have the same initial conditions and injected pulse, and the energy propagates through the same domain.
The two circles in the domain are voids in the material that produce reflections. The main difference between the classical and elastic wave equations is that the disturbance in the elastic case is a vector (displacement) and the disturbance in the classical case is just a scalar (like pressure).
