BRICS 2026 | Day 118TH BRICS SUMMIT — DAY 1: A DAY OF DIPLOMACY,DECISIONS & A CHANGING GLOBAL ORDER.

Описание: Day 1 in New Delhi delivered several major developments: Xi Jinping met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking Xi’s first India visit since 2019; BRICS leaders adopted the New Delhi Declaration, calling for dialogue, diplomacy and restraint amid major global conflicts; and members advanced cooperation on local-currency trade and interoperable payment systems—while there is no agreed common BRICS currency at this stage.

The summit also placed AI governance, digital public infrastructure, technology, supply chains and Global South priorities firmly on the agenda, with India pushing initiatives including the proposed BRICS Risk Lab at GIFT City, Gujarat.

From Modi–Xi diplomacy to the New Delhi Declaration, from payments and AI to a stronger Global South voice, Day 1 showed BRICS trying to find common ground despite very different national interests.

Different nations. Different interests. One table. 🇮🇳🌍
