THE BIRTH OF A KING

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. - Isaiah 9:6 The greatest event in human history is when God stepped
out of heaven and walked on earth. We call that the incarnation:the first Christmas morning. And for centuries, His story has been
worth retelling - from Mary and Joseph taking a cattle stall as a birthing place after a long journey, the shepherds receiving the
announcement of the birth of the Messiah by a multitude of angels,to the long and extravagant journey and visit by the Magi from afar. Though the story occurred over 2,000 years ago, it remains as riveting, compelling, and relevant to us today!

And with all due respect to all of the learned people of this world: if you do not understand this event, you don't have the golden key of all history. You do not have the key to knowledge. A wise man is ignorant, a rich man is poor, and a strong man is weak
until he knows the Lord Jesus Christ. For how sad to know biology, the study of life, and not know Jesus Ch rist the giver of life. How sad to know astronomy, to study the stars and to see how the heavens go, and not to know Jesus Christ the bright and morning
star and how to go to heaven. How sad to know Geology, and the strait of the rocks, and all of the Geological ages, and not know
Jesus Christ, the rock of ages. And to be able to say, lion Christ the solid rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand." How sad it
would be to know Botany, and the study of flowers and not to know Jesus, share in sweetest rose, who can perfume any life. How sad it would be for a person to claim to be educated, and to know history from beginning to end and to miss the central event in history,which is the story of Jesus - the baby born to be King
