I know I say it quite a bit but “bloody hell what a week, or more to the point what an end to the week!!
Chris and the lads went to Wychwood Golf Club to carry on with the drainage for a couple of days with King Kev and Cool Hand Luke back there Wednesday to top up the drain lines and have a general tidy up.
I was speaking with Mr Paul Snell from the golf club last week to ask if everything was ok with the work so far and if he wouldn’t mind jotting down a few words for us and this was his reply.
Over the past two years, DW Clark has fundamentally transformed The Wychwood Golf Club's approach to drainage, significantly enhancing the playability of holes 2, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Once labelled as a notoriously wet course, we now witness a remarkable improvement in drainage, particularly on our previously problematic 7th hole, which has improved so drastically that we can confidently accommodate buggies on the course. The dedicated installation of main drains, along with strategically connected laterals and comprehensive secondary drainage, has vastly improved both the surface conditions and overall experience for our valued members and guests. We wholeheartedly appreciate the expertise and genuine care that the DW Clark team brings to our course, and our only regret is that we didn’t initiate this partnership sooner. We eagerly anticipate continuing to elevate our facility with their invaluable support.
I have to admit that both Boss Man Chris and I were not expecting that and are sincerely grateful to Mr Snell and the course, not only for the work but also for such a glowing statement.
With all that said now seems like the perfect time to remind you all that: “Drainage is an investment and not an expense”
The rest of this week has been about as mad as it can possibly get preparing for the Charity Tractor Run this coming Saturday 29th November. It starts at 17.00 from Admington and follows the same route as it did last year. See either the Charity Tractor Run Facebook Page or the attached poster on this weeks video for details of the route and anticipated times.
Dillybob was out on site with the rest of the gang earlier this week but has had to rough it back in the office on his steady biscuit diet. He did nearly get a slap yesterday as during a manic period of making and trying to print signs he cut a backing board a different size to all the others!! I am sure he did this on purpose, it was either that or his sausage fingers got in the way of the tape measure and he hadn’t got his glasses on!!
Well that is November done and dusted, that Christmas thing is just around the corner. Thanks for the hard work and laughs this week, it certainly has been one of those today!! Anyway, remember the Tractor run this weekend, take the kids as they are sure to love all the lights, horns, razzmatazz and don’t forget some change for the buckets!!
Monday is the start of December so until then, have a dam fine weekend with whatever plans you have. Just remember to stay safe and stay smiley.
