9th May 1964 is mostly remembered by GW enthusiasts for the final high speed runs of Castles Class locos to and from Plymouth, however another run took place that day from Nottingham Victoria featuring 46251 City of Nottingham and later 34038 Lynton. The video features an excellent look around Eastleigh Works as well as Swindon.
Anyone wishing to see the Castles in action can purchase our DVD celebrating the run in 1964 and the 50th anniversary runs in 2014.
