Names and surnames of nine thousand of Russian servicemen who have been killed in the war in Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion have been established from open sources, that is official messages in social networks and Russian media and publications of relatives in social networks. Such a joint investigation has been conducted by journalists and volunteers of the BBC Russian Service and the 'Mediazona' publication since the beginning of a Russian full-scale war. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the losses of the Russian army have already exceeded 80 thousand people. Our correspondent will tell more details further in our story.
