Many years ago I had just started attending a new church that was very welcoming, the people were awesome, and you didn’t have to dress up, so it was just right for us.
My favorite thing about this church was the worship, it was very authentic and powerful, and it had a profound impact on me.
The worship leader was so real and passionate that it spilled out upon the congregation through her voice, her opening prayer, her music, and through her very personality.
I have been to a few churches, and heard different styles of worship, but this was more powerful than anything I had experienced before.
A few months had gone by and these worship experiences had such a profound effect upon me that I felt God leading me to take part in a more intimate way.
I decided to take a leap of faith so I asked God to provide the money to buy a guitar.
At the time I was completely broke, but the very next day an acquaintance asked me to do some painting for them. This was surely an answer to prayer.
While I was painting I asked, “God, if it’s your will for me to use this money to buy a guitar, then show me a clear sign.
If your answer is yes, then let the payment for this job be made in cash and check, with the cash being the exact amount of the price of the guitar, and the rest of the payment by check.
Imagine my surprise when the customer arrived home and asked if he could pay exactly as I had asked God for, with the cash payment being the EXACT price of the guitar, and the check being enough to get us by until the next job.
There is no way this person could have possibly known about my very specific request to God because I had never even prayed out loud, but God knew and He made sure that His answer was clear.
That evening I bought the guitar, and a month later I was performing on stage at our church’s Christmas event.
Then a pastor friend of mine discovered that I knew how to play guitar and asked me to lead worship during his outdoor church services.
Not long after that he acquired an actual church building and I was made the worship team leader.
From this experience I have learned that with faith, small beginnings can lead to great things.

God not only provided the guitar, but gave me the opportunity to lead others in worship, and also an amazing story to share with others.
