Описание: Pecs is the fifth largest city in Hungary. It is located on the slopes of the Mecsek mountain in the country's southwest and is the administrative and economic center of Baranya County. The city of Pecs is dating back to ancient times and was first settled by Celts and then Romans. It has the oldest university in Hungary and is one of its major cultural centers. Pecs is historically a multi-ethnic city where many cultures have interacted through 2,000 years of its history. The 150-year Ottoman occupation left Pecs with a rich cultural heritage which can be seen in numerous landmarks, such as the tomb of İdris Baba, the Yakovalı Hasan Paşa Mosque and the mosque of Pasha Qasim the Victorious at Széchenyi Square - at which we'll start and end our first part of the walking tour of this very beautiful and enjoyable city.
