150' rappel, you have a 200' rope and a 200' pull cord, you want to leave NO rigging, and you don't want to drag the rope around the tree, assume it's alive or around a rock, bad for the rope, and can cause groves in certain types of rocks. I've used a figure 8, webbing and a rapide to construct the rigging.
I've been working with retrievable anchors, trying to find which one works best in certain situations. I've rappelled several times and from various heights and never had a problem except if the anchor was set back from the edge and there's not a clean pull, I've had the figure 8 get hung up once. Now normally it would be my last choice for a rigging but I've found that in one situation with a clean pull, it was the best answer.
