This mint Schuco is an item from late Capt. Thomas "Thom" Gino Giuntoli's collection.
After a minor repair it is now in 100% working condition although the driver's skills are somewhat questionable.
These I believe were sold as fairly simply kits for the kids to build and enjoy. The sound is generated by a windup clockwork motor. The driving rod steers the car the hood ornament of which turns in the direction of the wheels, and pulling the driving rod upwards switches on the sound. First video drive so honking the horn all the way. :)
