A Chennai-based finance influencer with over 1.3 million Instagram followers has died by suicide. V Harish ran the social media brand ‘Finance With Harish’ on Instagram and YouTube.

Harish’s father alleged that Jason Samuel, the CEO of a venture studio, cyberbullied his son. Samuel posted a series of videos and threats, damaging the reputation that Harish had built over the years.

Harish's established account was disabled by Meta following the allegations against him. The influencer was stressed because of this, which drove him to take his own life, said his father.

Samuel, meanwhile, said he had only pointed out that the influencer had "misrepresented" facts. Kanathur police are investigating the death and the allegations raised by the family.
