Dini tells the story of the painting Red sent on her birthday and how the nurses at her mum’s hospital locked it in the safe at night. Red pulls out one of his cigars to tell an airplane story, listens while Dini describes finding his photograph in a hotel fashion magazine, and then quietly explains that he believes he was put on earth for a purpose, to make people laugh.
