Hi there, if you watched this video it’s because you have many questions about your pension plan, you are not alone.

If you became a CalSTRS member before January 1, 2013, you're under the CalSTRS 2% at 60 benefit structure.

Your benefits are not based on contribution or the market, so do not worry about that, YAY.

The following is a formula from the calSTRS website,
FORMULA based on:
Years of service credit
Your age at retirement
Your final compensation

Your maximum age factor is 2.4 percent reached at years of age 63 (average).
Your final compensation is your HIGHEST average COMPENSATION of 36 in CONSECUTIVE months.
