Dr Nilesh Chordiya (a Gynecologic oncologist with over 10 years of experience in cancer surgery) answered one of our viewers' questions in this video.
Question: my CA-125 test result is 51.33, could this be cancer?
Answer: To diagnose cancer, we do not employ the CA-125 marker; rather, this marker is frequently used in follow-up. However, CA-125 is not a 100% accurate marker for cancer.
Furthermore, if a simple cyst is also evident on a CT scan, there is no need for concern.

What exactly is CA-125?
The ovarian cancer biomarker CA-125 is frequently increased in the blood of those who have the disease.
It's crucial to realize that while the CA-125 blood test can help with ovarian cancer diagnosis and follow-up, it is not a reliable diagnostic tool.
The most frequent cause of high CA 125 levels is ovarian cancer, but other malignancies of the uterus, cervix, pancreas, liver, colon, breast, lung, and digestive tract can also do so. Numerous benign illnesses might also increase CA 125. The major purpose of CA 125 is to track the progress of ovarian cancer therapy.
