Come along as we spend Christmas in the Arctic Circle — 3 magical days in Tromsø, one of the best places in the world to chase the Northern Lights!

Tromsø has been on my travel wishlist since my uni days, so visiting here with my better half is like a dream-come-true moment for me!

We flew in from Rovaniemi a day before Christmas Eve, took the airport bus into the city, and settled into our cozy hotel — just in time for the Christmas calm. Despite most stores being closed during the holiday, Tromsø still had plenty of surprises for us — including aurora sightings in the most unexpected places (yes, even at a bus stop)!

🌌 Highlights include:
– Eco-friendly aurora cruise with spectacular Northern Lights
– Exploring what’s actually open during Christmas
– Visiting the beautiful Arctic Cathedral
– Food stops at Egon, McDonald’s, Burger King (not much else was open 😅)
– Discovering the northernmost boba shop and going there twice
– Soaking in the quiet magic of Christmas in the Arctic

🎄 It was a slow, peaceful leg of our Northern Europe trip — and honestly, the timing couldn’t have been better. Tromsø truly lived up to its reputation as the Aurora Capital.
