Why Homeschool with Paul Rose

We discuss the reasons why we homeschool, what makes homeschooling unique, and the differences between family-led constitutional homeschooling and virtual public schooling. Paul also shares some family adventures he has had as a homeschool dad.




Who is Paul Rose?






Paul and Valerie Rose of Tulsa were married in 1987 and homeschooled their six children from their toddler years through high school. Over the years, they have used various techniques, curriculums, and co-ops for a rich and rewarding experience. They have met many wonderful friends in the homeschool community along the way. In addition to running a generous and hospitable home, Paul owns his architecture and engineering firm, where he practices as an architectural and structural engineer. Since they were married, they have been members of First United Methodist Church Tulsa, but they like to visit other churches to worship with friends. Valerie has served as co-op-leader, homeschool event planner, and as support manager and campus director for Classical Conversations of Downtown Tulsa. After serving on the Tulsa OCHEC Convention Committee, the Roses joined the Trustee Board in 2011. They are known for large family-oriented gatherings at their midtown home with a cozy fire, great food, fun games, and exciting conversations into the late hours. Their homeschool adventure has blessed them with children who have a wide variety of interests, gifts, and passions and has kept them close as a family.
