Removing a truck bed. And how to remove the rusted bolts. It’s a One man job (but my wife did help)!

With an engine hoist and Dremel tool, you can remove the bed of your Chevy pick up truck. It’s actually pretty straightforward, but as always, rust slows down everything.
Step 1 remove the spare tire
Step 2 disconnect the wiring harness
Step 3 remove the tailgate
Step 4 remove the two torque spits behind the gas filler cap
Optional step 5 and 6, remove your trailer hitch and your rear bumper. Note to remove the rear bumper you need to first loosen the truck bed from the frame so that you can lift the bed approximately 1 inch to slide out the bumper. Removing the bumper or the hitch is not required to remove the bed.
My truck is a 2014 Silverado short bed, your results may vary!
