Описание: Let’s face facts. At the best of times the job market is a pretty uneven playing field out there; and for many graduating school girls from disadvantaged communities, it’s an uphill battle every step of the way.

Great Girls is a Kwaai City of Cape Town-based organization led by women for women. The goal is to prepare graduating high school girls from these communities for the trials of the working world.

It’s a multi-faceted challenge - focusing on self-image and belief and realizing and maximizing real potential – especially at those critical interview moments when a job-seeker most needs to do so.

The better-prepared a candidate when an employment or career opportunity presents itself, the more chance she has of advancing herself and gaining a grip in the tough, unforgiving world out there. The goal of the Great Girls programme is to provide these girls with the vital support they need to navigate the troubled waters of emerging, young adulthood and sustained employment.

This task doesn’t end at graduation. On the contrary - it is only the beginning - and Great Girls has a personal feedback system in place, offering the opportunity to stay in contact with graduates and to follow and assist where able on their journey of life and road to success.

Kwaai City recently bore witness to the Great Girls pilot programme in the community of Lavender Hill near Muizenberg.
