Brooklyn-born Larry Clinton was a bandleader who played trumpet, trombone and clarinet. While fronting his own group prior to pilot service in WWII (where he achieved the rank of captain), Larry also wrote charts for Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, Glen Gray, Louis Armstrong and Bunny Berigan.
From 1937 to '39 he had an incredible run of 34 national hits, most of them reaching high into BILLBOARD's Top 10, with none lower in ranking than #17.
