In this vlog, I navigate a sea of over 5 million people to witness a tradition that bridges Spanish colonial heritage with local Filipino folklore. From seeing statues of Jesus in a McDonald’s ✝️ to joining massive street parades, this was a sensory overload unlike anything I’ve ever filmed. 🤳

As a European, I’ll be honest: there were moments where I felt completely out of my element. The "rough and extrovert" energy of millions of people partying—mostly without a drop of alcohol—is something you have to see to believe. 🌊✨

The Gear Behind the Chaos 🎥
I decided to film almost the entire experience using the DJI Action 4. In a crowd of over 5 million people, a traditional camera would have been impossible to manage. The Action 4 allowed me to stay mobile, get right into the heart of the "current," and capture the feast in 4K without worrying about the dust, the paint, or the constant pushing of the crowd.

Its wide-angle lens was the only way to truly show the scale of the streets in Cebu. It’s the ultimate tool for a "one-man-army" filmmaker trying to survive one the biggest party in Asia. 🌏🚀

About the Sinulog Festival 🇵🇭
The Sinulog Festival is a major annual cultural and religious celebration held in Cebu City on the third Sunday of January to honor the Santo Niño (Child Jesus). "Sinulog" is derived from the Cebuano word sulog, meaning "like water current," representing the forward-backward dance steps that mimic the movement of the sea. In 2026, it remains one of the world's most massive displays of human energy and devotion. 📈
