Sarawak's Christmas Carol in Diversity Event at Padang Merdeka Sets Record as Largest Christmas Carol Gathering in Malaysia. On Sunday night, the event gained official recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for hosting 2,479 participants, exceeding the initial target of 1,500 carollers.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian presided over the ceremonial lighting of a grand Christmas tree in front of the Plaza Merdeka shopping mall, signalling the commencement of the program.
