Would You Pick the Mystery Box or Take the Cash? (Newcomb’s Paradox)

A super-intelligent AI has already predicted what you’ll do.

If it predicted you’ll take only the sealed box,
it placed $1 million inside.

If it predicted you’d take both,
it left the sealed box empty.

The money is already in the boxes — or it isn’t.

You can’t change that.

So what do you do?

Take both boxes — and you’re guaranteed $1,000.

But if the AI is almost always right…
that choice probably means the sealed box is empty.

Take just the sealed box —
and you might get $1 million.

Or you might get nothing.

The paradox is this:

The outcome depends on a prediction
that was made before you chose —
but based entirely on the choice you’re about to make.

So…
