With the Team Time Trial, Individual time Trial, Under 23 races and the Road Races there are plenty of rainbow jerseys up for grabs over the next week in Italy. We looked at the pro cyclists, both men and women, that we expect to see challenging for the coveted title of World Champion.

Will Sir Bradley Wiggins take the individual TT win, or will Canellara win his fifth title. however Tony Martin is on the hunt for gold number three. Lucy Garner makes her first appearance at senior level as part of the Great Britain squad, and is definitely a contender - as is American Evelyn Stevens.

Marianne Vos can never be discounted - with 11 rainbow jerseys to her name so far. Equally, Alberto Contador is in form and part of a very strong Spanish team.

Whoever wins, we're sure the racing is going to be absolutely brilliant!
