In today's One Minute Wednesday, we'll show you how to scuff the bottom of your bowling shoes to increase or reduce slide.
The only tool you'll need for the job is a wire shoe brush like this one.
Almost all bowling shoe soles are made of a felt or microfiber material. This means that as you slide more and more, those fibers are moving and becoming more compressed.
If you wish to reduce your slide, take your wire shoe brush and brush the sole from the heel toward the toe. You want to really fluff up those fibers.
If you want more slide, brush from the toe to the heel.
For something in the middle, brush from side to side.
Different bowling alleys have different approach materials, so use this tip to fine tune your slide.
