60099 working the DC Rail Machen stone train at Newport 24/02/26

On Tuesday the 17th of February, DC Rail began running a number of stone trains from Machen Quarry utilising their Class 60 locomotives.
On Tuesday the 24th, 60099 'Ben More Assynt' worked the 6B60 09:48 West Drayton Frays Sidings to Machen Quarry empties and was held at Newport for Freightliner's 66556 to pass through working the 6M50 14:02 Machen Quarry (FLHH) to Lawley Street Aggs Term loaded stone train which created the usual sight of an empty train in Platform 2 and a loaded train in Platform 3 at Newport station.
It was great to see my favourite locos the Class 60's back in South Wales for the first time since 2023.
