A metaphor is simply a way of looking at something in terms of something else. Metaphors have the power to shape the way that we view the world, allowing us to approach things in a unique way. A figurative way. Daniella Van Der Horst enlightens us on the importance being cognizant of the language we use to describe the world around us and the impression it leaves; especially regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
Daniella is a BA Honours student at the University of Pretoria, studying Applied Language Studies. Daniella is an avid lover of people and language, which includes how people use language. Her hobbies include reading and horse-riding.
