About two swans in love.

And as bonus, we get a chance to see the fairy Elara (from the sweetest lad) at work in her new adult-role as guardian of the forest.

So lets start the story. And this time we really start with:

“Once upon a time….”

…...on a still and silver lake hidden deep within the Enchanted Forest, a lone swan drifted beneath the pale light of dawn.
The water lay quiet around him, and in his chest stirred a longing he did not yet have a name for.
In the soft morning mist, he saw her, the most beautiful swan he had ever laid eyes upon, moving across the lake as though the water itself had shaped her.
Something in him knew, even then, that his path would never again be a solitary one.

Together they glided through the turning seasons, their days written in ripples and reflected skies. Summer crowned them in gold, and cygnets followed proudly in their wake, while the lake learned the familiar curve of their devotion beneath the weeping willow’s sigh.

Life felt full, as though it might go on just so forever.

And yet, even in the warmest light, a quiet question lingered in the hush of the forest, one that no swan, nor water, nor wind could answer…

I wonder... where do swans go when they die?
