Back on May 15th, 2020 I set up at the second of the three road crossings with recently cleared brush on a small hill near the old Rothesay Station near mile 78 of the CN Sussex Sub to catch a big 406 Westbound freight barreling down the rails!
On May 15th, 2020 CN 406 Westbound took a little longer than usual from Moncton to Saint John which I believe was due to the lack of engine power on this near 9000 foot train. Before heading into work I decided to catch it at one of my favourite spots to watch 406 at mile 78ish of the Sussex Sub with lots of horn action for the trio of crossings! A newer GEVO CN ET44AC 3206 was leading the charge along with an older GEVO CN ES44AC 2818 hauling a great sized train of 132 cars of mixed manifest freight including gypsum, woodchips, containers with other saint john bound merchandise and a friendly crew!
I apologize for the shaky video in parts due to the weight of the train on the soft ground. Didn't think it would be a problem but turns out it was. Still getting used to recording with a tripod instead of my hands.
Thanks for Watching!
