To help celebrate EastEnders at 40, here is the full edition of day 4 of Happy Birthday EastEnders - BBC1's live behind-the-scenes visit to the set of Albert Square for half term week in 2000. Presented by Gaby Roslin and Jeremy Spake, whose voice grates after a while! Features interviews with cast, crew and fans including Perry Fenwick (Billy), Mona Hammond (Blossom), Jamie Jarvis (Troy), Shirley Cheriton (Debbie), Tommy Eytle (Jules), Krystle Williams (Kim), Ashvin Luximon (Asif), Laurence Williams (set designer), Francine Lewis (impressionist).
This comes from the era just after Grant Mitchell left leaving Peggy in her prime; Ian Beale had his business empire; the di Marco family were on their way out and a few months before the arrival of the infamous Slaters. I personally stopped watching the show in 2006 when it lost the plot but still quite nostalgic for it!
