This is something that I've just recently learnt and discovered this year.
Getting Statistics and Geography related data used to be a cumbersome and time consuming tasks... requiring research to various websites and publications... downloading them.. then merging them together before flowing them into your financial model or excel file.

Nowadays... there is a fast & easy way of doing so...
By setting up Geography Data Type in Excel.

For those of you who haven't heard about geography data type... It is a 'linked data types' which is a new feature which will enable you to pull and reference external data associated with country/region, city, state, administrative division, county, township, municipality, district, shire, province, territory, zip code.. from external data providers, such as government agency, census, wikipedia, etc... into your excel spreadsheet via several clicks.... or by typing simple formula.

Simply amazing display collaboration between Excel and Bing... which enable ease of integration of data provided by other information providers such as ABS (Australia Bureau of Statistics), Wikipedia, etc...

There is a small catch... you need to be on Excel Microsoft 365 subscription... and be connected to the internet.
