The James Bond Island is one of the most famous sights in southern Thailand. For our exclusive adaptation of this famous trip, we leave late so that we arrive after the crowds have left.
After a short 1-hour driver from Khao Lak, we arrive in the town of Phang Nga. Our first stop is the ancient Suwannakhuha cave temple with the golden reclining Buddha. Here we have a quick look around and our guide will tell you a bit about Phang Nga's rich history, before the invention of the world's most famous secret agent.
Soon it is time to jump onto the longtail boat and head off into the bay. Phang Nga Bay is home to one of the biggest mangrove forests in Thailand. The bay is also full of impressive limestone mountains that have been pushed up out of the seabed.
When we arrive at the James Bond Island, also known as Ko Tapu and Koh Ping Kan, there is plenty of time to re-enact your favorite scenes from The Man with the Golden Gun. Before we head off to enjoy a delicious dinner with a view in the village of Ko Panyee.
After dinner we cruise back through the bay as the sun sets.
