The Lalbagh Flower Show 2026 is currently underway in Bengaluru, running from January 14 to January 26, 2026, as part of Republic Day celebrations. This year’s edition, the 219th, is dedicated to the renowned Kannada writer, environmentalist, and thinker K.P. Poornachandra Tejaswi, titled Tejaswi Vismaya.
Key Highlights:
Theme: A floral tribute to Poornachandra Tejaswi, featuring installations like a 12-foot vertical garden, a floral replica of his home Niruttara, and sculptures from his novel Carvalho.
Floral Display: Over 32 lakh flowers, including 27 lakh grown at Lalbagh, sourced from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Darjeeling.
Unique Attractions:
Daily theatre performances and literary discussions on Tejaswi’s works.
Moving animal tableaux, a dinosaur sculpture made of vegetables, and a photo gallery of birds.
Eco-friendly initiatives: the garden is plastic-free during the show, with water refill stations and reusable bottle encouragement.
Special Exhibits: Rare root sculptures, insect specimens, a Soliga tribal culture display, and a military equipment exhibition.

Parking: Restricted inside the garden; use Shanthinagar Bus Depot Complex or Al-Ameen College for parking.

The show was inaugurated on January 14, 2026, at 4 PM by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar. An expected 11–12 lakh visitors are anticipated during the 13-day event.
