In a decisive move to curb black marketing and ensure fair distribution of essential agricultural supplies, Kulgam Police conducted extensive raids on fertilizer, pesticide shops, chemical dealers and automobile workshops across the district. The drive was carried out to ensure that fertilizers, chemicals and related materials are sold strictly as per government norms and reach genuine farmers without any illegal hoarding or overpricing.

The inspection drive was conducted under the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Kulgam Inayat Ali Chowdhury. A police team led by SHO Kulgam Sabzar Ahmad inspected several markets and business establishments dealing with fertilizers, pesticides, chemicals and automobile modification works.

During the raids, police teams thoroughly checked stock registers, sale records, billing details and price lists to verify compliance with government regulations. Shopkeepers were strictly directed not to sell fertilizers without proper Aadhaar-based authentication and to maintain complete records of buyers to prevent misuse and black marketing.

Police also inspected automobile workshops, particularly those involved in vehicle modification and repair works. Workshop owners were instructed to maintain proper daily records of vehicles and customers and to immediately inform police if they notice any suspicious activity or unusual modification requests.

Chemical, pesticide and fertilizer dealers were advised not to sell manure, chemicals or related materials without proper documentation. They were directed to keep updated registers of stock and sales and ensure that supplies are provided only to genuine customers as per rules.

Officials warned that strict legal action will be taken against any dealer or workshop owner found involved in hoarding, overpricing, unauthorized sale or violation of government guidelines.
Such checking drives will remain continue in the coming days to maintain transparency and safeguard the interests of farmers as well as the general public.
