In today's video blog we're talking about social cleansing and we're going to be talking about London, UK specifically (as we live there) but the issues we are discussing is a problem all over the western world! We're talking about economical and regional social cleansing (we're NOT talking about racial cleansing, genetic cleansing or exterminating people, etc), but we are talking about an issue that is changing the face of London and other major cities across the globe. And it's not just the big cities that are affected by this, the problem filters down to towns and villages too.

Social Cleansing

The issue at hand affects your everyday life, your everyday business and the community around you. Due to the current economic situation many people are being forced to move outwards from city areas to poorer areas further out of the city and sometimes the other side of the country. This has created and will continue to create all sorts of problems economically and socially.

At the moment the house prices and living costs are soaring up, and jobs are few and far between and wages low. People are being evicted and relocated more and more each day!! Nothing is staying the same and nothing will stay the same!! Families who have lived in areas for generations are being forced to move out, and wealthier people are moving in. This tends to take away some of the cultural elements of the society.
